SITM represents Smart City at CeBIT 2018 in Hannover
The SITM chair, together with the city-owned multi-service company Duisburger Versorgungs- und Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (DVV), represented Smart City Duisburg at CeBIT 2018. In cooperation with the technology partner Huawei and the Duisburg City Director of Digitalization, Mr. Martin Murrack, the “Masterplan Digital Duisburg” was presented at a press conference. They also announced the introduction of the Rhine Cloud, a common platform that can integrate and offer a variety of smart city services. From October 2018 onward, the NavVis indoor navigation service can be used via the platform. This navigation service will help users navigate buildings such as the town hall and museums. The chair’s delegation comprised Prof. Frederik Ahlemann, Kevin Rehring, and Peder Bergan. Their visit to CeBIT gave the team the opportunity to exchange ideas with other experts in the field and to discuss new and innovative ideas.
